Veterinary Surgeon Marta qualified from Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poland, in 2008. In Warsaw, she worked with almost every type of exotic pet, including small mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and fish, as well as cats and dogs.
In 2013 she received the title ‘ Specialist in the field of Fish Diseases’. Fishkeeping has always been her biggest hobby, she chose fish medicine as her postgraduate field of study. She has written 4 papers about treatment of exotic fish, which were published in all-Polish ‘Aquariums Magazine’.
Marta moved to Ireland in 2014, before joining the team at Shenick, she worked in Irelands biggest aquatic store- Seahorse Aquariums, Dublin.
Marta became our resident exotics expert in November 2014. She is fantastic with all sorts of exotic pets, from birds, to hamsters, turtles and snakes, and everything in between. She is currently working towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Exotic Medicine.
Her professional interests include internal medicine and infectious diseases of dogs, cats and exotic pets.
Outside the practice, Marta has a keen interest in keeping fresh and saltwater fish, marine biology and history of the Native North Americans. She tries to spend her free time outside, practicing yoga and pilates and going windsurfing or snowboarding.
She has a lovely cat called Freya and two budgies, Frank and Francesca.
